Hundreds turn out for Rooster Walk

Annual music festival held in Henry County

HENRY COUNTY – A popular Henry County music festival is wrapping another successful year.

Sunday was the final day for Rooster Walk.

Over two dozen bands and local musicians play over the course of the four-day festival.

Dozens of arts-and-crafts and food vendors also set up shop at the venue.

Part of the proceeds help fund a college scholarship for Martinsville High School students.

They also help out local charities.

"It's very exciting. I'm glad the weather held off. Rooster Walk does a lot for the community," festival attendee Sherri Lewis said.

"The food is incredible, but the music, I guess, is the most exciting. There's a little bit of everything for everybody," Lewis said.

The festival has raised more than $100,000 for local charities since it began in 2008.
