3-year-old rescued after reported drowning at Smith Mountain Lake

MONETA, Va. – Crews rescued a 3-year-old Monday after a reported drowning at Smith Mountain Lake.

Multiple crews responded to the Snug Harbour boat ramp at 5 p.m. for a possible drowning, according to the Moneta Volunteer Rescue Squad.

The squad posted on its Facebook page that the child was removed from the water and was in stable condition prior to being transported to the hospital.

Crews arrived at the scene less than 5 minutes after the initial dispatch call.
