The deputy turned in an attempt to stop Wojdyla, but he refused to stop and led the deputy on a pursuit into Campbell County, authorities said.

Deputies said Wojdyla failed to stop for a stop light at the intersection of 460 and Wildwood Drive and turned onto Timberlake Road.

He continued to the area of Waterlick Road and crossed over and traveled back in the opposite direction, traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Timberlake Road.

Deputies said Wojdyla then got back on 460, traveling west in the eastbound lane against the flow of traffic.

Deputies said he lost control of the motorcycle as he approached the intersection of 460 and Turkey Foot Road and crashed into a vehicle at the intersection.

Wojdyla suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

Virginia State Police are investigating the accident.

Wojdyla is facing charges of felony eluding police, reckless driving, driving with a suspended operator’s license and no insurance.
