Community holds vigil in honor of Virginia State Police special agent

Hundreds gather at State Police Academy

RICHMOND – The community remembers a Virginia State Police special agent who was killed on the job. 

Hundreds gathered at the State Police Academy to honor special agent Michael Walter. 

The 19-year veteran was on patrol Friday when he was shot. 

The husband, father, and well-known wrestling coach was loved by many.  

The funeral for special agent Walters will be held Saturday at 1 p.m.
