God's Pit Crew travels to Gatlinburg to begin Fire and Faith build

Gatlinburg couple with New River Valley roots soon will have new home

DANVILLE – After months of volunteer fundraising, a couple who lost everything in the Gatlinburg wild fire is now only weeks away from having a new home. God's Pit crew pulled out of its Danville warehouse this morning with all the supplies needed to build Terry and Sarah Benson's home.

As WSLS 10 reported, Sarah is originally from our area. Work will begin on the home Friday as God's Pit Crew starts building the walls. Volunteers with God’s Pit Crew plans to unveil the home on June 17.

The organization still does still need to raise a little over $30,000 to complete the build.
