Police investigating after report of shots fired in Roanoke

ROANOKE – An investigation is underway after reports of shots fired in Roanoke.

A man told police he was driving east on Orange Avenue near the Berglund Center when a burgundy vehicle pulled up beside him and a black man started shooting at him.

His vehicle was hit a couple of times, police say, but he was not injured. He then rear-ended another vehicle trying to get away from the vehicle that was shooting at him.

Police say there were no injuries in that crash either.

The suspect vehicle headed east on Orange Avenue.

The Investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made. Police say the incident does not appear to be random.
