Woman charged with cruelty, abandonment after dog carcass found in apartment

Price turned herself in to police Monday

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. – A woman accused in a possible animal cruelty case turned herself in to police on Monday, according to WCYB.

The NBC affiliate says Lindsey Price, of Johnson City, is charged with aggravated cruelty and abandonment. She is scheduled to appear in court on June 14.

A citation was issued for Price last week after her dog's carcass was found inside her former apartment by the landlord, according to officers.

Officers say the carcass was found in a locked room, and officials with the Washington County Animal Shelter confirmed that Price had adopted the animal in question several years ago.
