Police searching for armed robbery suspect

SOUTH BOSTON, Va. – South Boston police are searching for an armed robbery suspect. 

The robbery happened Thursday at the Jiffy Store on John Randolph Boulevard. 

According to police, a witness told officers a man entered the store with a handgun and demanded money. The man left with an undisclosed amount of cash and headed in the direction of Ash Avenue. 

Officers and deputies with the Halifax County Sheriff's Office and a Sheriff's Office K-9 unit searched the area but were unable to locate a suspect.
