63-year-old man dead after Pittsylvania County crash

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – A Pittsylvania County man died after a crash on Route 750 on Saturday, according to Virginia State Police.

Police say Delvis Lee Scearce, 63, of Callands, Virginia, was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene of the single-vehicle crash that happened at 7:32 p.m. on Route 750 at its intersection with Route 865 in Pittsylvania County.

Police say a 2001 Ford Mustang ran off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The crash remains under investigation.
