AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va – Both men are back in custody after escaping Middle River Regional Jail Monday morning.
Johnson was apprehended in Rockingham County at about 5 p.m. without incident and Henderson was taken into custody in Rockingham County at about 6 p.m., according to authorities.

Both men now face a charge of escape.

A search is underway for two inmates who authorities say escaped from Middle River Regional Jail Monday morning.
Law enforcement is asking for the public’s help in locating Cody Grey Johnson and Daniel Gordon Henderson.
The Middle River Regional Jail says Johnson was being held on child abuse, drug, driving and probation violation charges, while Henderson was being held on driving, drug, and probation violation related charges.
According to a release from the jail, the two inmates escaped at about 3:20 a.m. while they were being escorted by an officer.
The jail is coordinating with local, state, and federal law enforcement and corrections in efforts to apprehend these fugitives.
