US Marshals find Roanoke man after he fled jury trial

Dunlap is held at Western Virginia Regional Jail without bond

ROANOKE COUTNY – Roanoke County Police say they have found 49-year-old John Dunlap, of Roanoke.

Authorities began searching for Dunlap after he ran away during his trial for domestic assault and battery.

He left the courtroom while the jury was deliberating and did not come back. 

Dunlap was found guilty. 

The US Marshals Fugitive Task Force found him Thursday afternoon in Roanoke County.

He is being held at the Western Virginia Regional Jail without bond.
