ROANOKE COUNTY, Va.

Roanoke County Fire and Rescue  crew put out a house fire Saturday afternoon in the 2500 block of Fountain Lane in the Vinton area.

The first crews to arrive just before 2 p.m. saw flames coming from the attic of the house.

Crews from Vinton, Mount Pleasant and Hollins responded to the fire.

No one was injured, but the occupants of the home are displaced and are staying with family in the area.

Crews say the fire was mostly confined to the attic; however, there is smoke and water damage throughout the home.

The fire marshal’s office says the fire was due to a mechanical/electric engineering failure from a fan in the attic.
