Brookville Timberlake Volunteer Fire Department Chief Jerry Womack said Sunday the fire is believed to have been caused by hot embers left in a grill.

According to Womack, the family that lives in the home used a grill on the home's porch and went for a boat ride on the lake afterwards, thinking the fire in the grill was out

Womack said hot embers likely fell onto the deck while the family was gone, sparking the fire.

The home is a total loss.

Several fire departments and rescue squads responded to the scene. No injuries were reported and there's no word on what caused the fire.
