Relatives and friends have identified the girl as 17 year-old Nabra Hassanen of Reston.

Hassanen was walking with friends from her local mosque when there was a dispute with a man in a nearby car.

Her friends ran off while she disappeared.

The killing took place during the month-long religious observance of Ramadan.

Police say they have not found any evidence to suggest this was a hate crime.
