Roanoke SPCA encourages businesses to celebrate National Take Your Dog to Work Day

SPCA hopes businesses will celebrate by donating to animal charity.

ROANOKE, Va. – Friday is National Take Your Dog to Work Day and the Roanoke Valley SPCA is encouraging Roanoke to get in on the action.

The SPCA has teamed up with Hometown Bank for the third year in a row to get local businesses to allow dogs to visit for the day.

The shelter is asking any employee that brings in a dog to also donate to the shelter or animal charity of their choice.

"Let the pets come in, give it a try for a little bit, and you know if they don't have a dog we can help them out," said Sylvie Peterson, director of community engagement.

If your place of work is celebrating on Friday, the shelter asks that you post pictures on Facebook and tag Roanoke Valley SPCA.
