Crews make final preparations for Salem Fair

The fair runs from Wednesday through July 9

SALEM, Va. – The Salem Fair is back Wednesday for its 30th year.

Crews are working on the finishing touches for opening day, putting together rides and setting up food trucks.

They started setting up for the fair last week after the Carolina League All-Star Classic wrapped up and will be working up until the time gates open at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

"In the case of the entertainment, the tiger show arrived late last night. They've driven from Iowa, so they're set up, ready to go tomorrow. The petting zoo's been here a couple of days. The small world of agriculture came in yesterday. The racing pigs came in. So everything is coming along. We're getting a lot of things accomplished and ready to go," Salem Director of Tourism Carey Harveycutter said.

The state's largest fair runs from Wednesday through July 9. Click here for more information.
