Trump golf clubs boast fake Time Magazine cover

Time has asked courses to remove decor

President Donald Trump is facing scrutiny after it was discovered that fake Time Magazine covers featuring his face were hung in at least five Trump golf clubs.

According to a Washington Post article, a reporter who was visiting one of the properties discovered the look-alike cover. Many small inconsistencies compared to true covers gave way to the revelation that they were, in fact, fake.

Kerri Chyka, a spokesperson for Time, confirmed to that Post that the cover isn't real.

The cover bears the date, March 1, 2009, which was the season debut of Trump's "The Apprentice." Time, however, did not publish a magazine that month until the next day, which featured actress Kate Winslet on the cover.

Amid the revelation that the Trump Organization itself was responsible for facilitating the spread of "fake news," Time asked the golf clubs to remove the decor.
