Police: Danville man arrested after robbing same store twice in one month

A K-9 helped police find the suspect, police say


DANVILLE, Va. – A Danville man faces multiple charges after two separate robberies this month.

Malik Keith Hogan, 26, of Danville, robbed the Pit Stop Mart on Piney Forest Road on two separate occasions, according to police.

A clerk at the Pit Stop Mart reported that she was robbed at gunpoint late Thursday night.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash before running away from the store, according to police.

A search warrant was obtained for an apartment at the Hunter’s Run Apartments on Crosland Avenue, after a K-9 track was conducted and police received information.

Police say they found Hogan inside the apartment, along with evidence of the robbery.

He's charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Hogan was also charged with an armed robbery at the same location on June 13 and is being held in the Danville City Jail under no bond.
