Buchanan Community Carnival brings community together

Carnival helps support emergency services

BUCHANAN, Va. – The Buchanan Community Carnival is still in full swing and the fun is all for an important cause.

This is the 63rd year for the carnival which offers games, rides and food.

More than 100 volunteers from the community help run the carnival.

It's free to get in and the money raised stays in the area.

"You can go to any state ever find anybody and everybody that friends and family who are pitching in to help wherever their chance to make this thing a success," said Chief Craig Bryant, Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department.

Hoping to raise $20,000, the money will go toward buying equipment for the Fire Department and Rescue Squad.

The carnival ends Saturday.
