DANVILLE, Va. – A fire caused minor damage to a home Wednesday morning.
The Danville Fire Department, Danville Life Saving Crew, and Danville Police Department responded around 7:45 to the home in the 200 block of Gatewood Avenue.
No one was home at the time.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire and put it out quickly.
"After forcing entry, they went in to find a small amount of fire in the crawl space. The fire was extinguished," said Danville Fire Department Battalion Chief Brian Alderson.
"The damage is pretty minor. It didn't extend to a lot of the structure," Alderson said.
The cause remains under investigation.
