ROANOKE, Va. – WSLS10 is teaming up with Habitat for Humanity for the nonprofit’s first ever Teens Build.

Teens Build is a fun and educational camp for kids between 12 and 15 years old who are interested in learning more about the construction trade. Campers will enjoy hands-on projects, including building a tool shed for a Habitat house, discussion with industry professionals and exploration of blueprint design. There will be two workshop days and one day dedicated to building the tool shed.

No experience is needed. Volunteers, including meteorologist Kristina Montuori, will be on-site to help and all of your tools are provided.

The camp runs from Wednesday, July 12, through Friday, July 14, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Habitat for Humanity, 3435 Melrose Ave. NW Roanoke. To sign up, call Gina Dunnavant at 540-344-0747, extension 110, or email her at gina@habitat-roanoke.org.

Covenant Real Estate Services has generously offered to cover the $75 registration fee for any campers unable to afford it.

That $75 fee helps to cover costs for materials, tools, snacks and lunch.

Habitat for Humanity Teens Build is sponsored by Lowe’s Home Improvement, Branch and Associates Inc., Hughes Associates, MB Contractors, Lionberger Construction, Covenant Real Estate Services and WSLS 10.
