Subaru and Leukemia Society deliver blankets to Roanoke Carilion cancer patients

The donation was part of the Subaru Love to Care program.

ROANOKE, Va. – Subaru of America and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society teamed up Friday to spread the love to cancer patients at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Blankets and arts-and-crafts kits were delivered to cancer patients throughout the hospital as part of Subaru's Love To Care program.

First Team Subaru in Roanoke helped with the donations.

This is the second year of the donation event and society staff say it's a nice way to reach out to the communities they serve.

"At the office we do a lot of behind the scenes to help with research and advocacy but to get out in the field and be able to deliver those blankets and have that one-on-one interaction with the patients, that's when we really see what our hard work does and who it benefits," said Khiem Tran, of the Virginia Leukemia and Lyphoma Society.

Patients also received messages of hope written by customers at First Team Subaru.
