BEDFORD, Va. – While in Bedford Tuesday, Virginia’s Attorney General Mark Herring took some time to meet with members of the Boys with a Dream organization.
Community leaders said they agree that education about drugs needs to start earlier in school. That's why Herring took time to talk to the local boys about what they're doing to spread the message to their friends and classmates.
Jayden Brown, 13, said it's up to his generation to stop this.
"People using drugs do bad things and we're just trying to make them stop doing it," Brown said.
Boys with a Dream has also put together a public service announcement about how the opioid epidemic impacts kids. They plan to release it in the coming days.
