What's News Today: July 25, 2017

Here's a look at some of the stories we'll be following today

Martinsville City Council will get an update on the Strategic Plan for the city.  Earlier this year, council updated the plan, setting goals and laying out how performance will be measured in eight different categories, including community development, budget and finance and public safety.

Virginia Western Community College holds a groundbreaking today for its new STEM facility.  The new $30 million facility will provide students with hands-on education in cutting edge laboratories.  Construction will continue through Spring 2019.

The Botetourt County Board of Supervisors will get an update today on the Rocky Forge wind farm project.  The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality approved the project earlier this year.  Apex Clean Energy will install 25 wind turbines on North Mountain.  The turbines will stand more than 500 feet tall.
