Lynchburg names new principal for E.C. Glass High

LYNCHBURG, Va. – E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg will have a new principal. 

The Lynchburg City School Board has approved the superintendent's recommendation to hire Dr. Jeffrey Garrett.

Garrett has more than 20 years of experience as a public educator. He currently serves as the assistant principal and director of athletics at Buckingham County Public Schools. Prior to his post at Buckingham, he served as the Director of Career and Technical Education at Charlotte County Public Schools, as well as AP posts at Randolph-Henry and Appomattox High Schools, and principal of Appomattox Middle School. 

Garrett has a doctorate degree in educational leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University as well as advanced degrees in Administration & Supervision and Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Virginia. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in health and physical education from Longwood College.
