Radford Police Department competes for $5,000 grant

RADFORD, Va. – The Radford Police Department is competing for a $5,000 grant that will help fight crime.

The national contest from the group Aftermath is called "Why We Serve."

Radford Lieutenant Andy Wilburn is partnering with the Help Save the Next Girl Foundation, which was formed in honor of Morgan Harrington, a Virginia Tech student who was abducted and murdered in 2009. 

Wilburn is competing against three other law enforcement agencies that are still in the running. 

Voting runs through Friday, August 11. The winner will be announced Monday, August 14.
