ROANOKE, Va. – SunTrust Bank brought its financial confidence pop up tour to Roanoke Friday afternoon.

The onUp on tour is a pop-up, entertainment experience to help people handle financial stress. Friday, the tour stopped at the SunTrust branch on Hershberger Road, it's first stop in Virginia.

Visitors got to try their luck at the onUp trivia challenge, photo booths and a virtual reality experience.

Last year, SunTrust launched the onUp movement, and as of today, nearly 2 million people have signed up for the program.

"If we can get them to sign up for onup.com and go there and just learn one fact that can help them, whether it's budgeting or estate planning, anything along those lines that will help them gain confidence is what we hope for," said Craig Parrent, senior vice president for SunTrust Roanoke Valley.

According to Experian's 2016 "State of Credit" report, Roanoke residents on average carry a balance of nearly $5,000 on their credit cards.
