Lynchburg Police search for suspect in armed robbery

LYNCHBURG – Police in Lynchburg are searching for a man they say robbed the Stop-In Food Store at gunpoint. 

It happened at 11:13 a.m on Saturday Morning. 

Police say the suspect entered the store and displayed a firearm to the clerk demanding money. He took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled the store. 

Surveillance video shows that the man ran to a nearby red minivan with Virginia tags and fled the scene. 

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30's. He's approximately 6' 1", weighing around 250 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt, a blue New York Giants hat, and using a red jacket to cover his face.
