Police say a Driving altercation turns deadly

ROANOKE – UPDATE: Police tell us the woman who was shot has died from her injuries. 

The victim was pronounced dead at 8:56 p.m. on Saturday.

Her identity and that of the injured man are being held pending notification of the next of kin. 

The shooter has been identified as 48-year-old Kimberly Gollop of Roanoke. 

She faces second-degree murder charges. Additional charges are pending. She is being held at the Roanoke City Jail without bond.

One woman is in serious condition, and a man is injured after an altercation in the parking lot of the Family Dollar on Orange Avenue. 

Police say the call came into dispatch at around 6:14 p.m. on Saturday. 

They say a driving altercation between two vehicles ended up in the parking lot of that store. 

One female gets out of her car and shoots into the second vehicle, hitting a man and a woman. 

The woman is in serious condition. The man has non-life threatening injuries. There were children in that second car, but they were not injured in the shooting. Police say they are being checked out at the hospital as a precaution. 

Police tell us they have everyone involved accounted for. The investigation is ongoing. Stay with WSLS 10 for the latest.
