SALEM, Va. – Beginning Monday, parking spaces at the Park and Ride near Exit 140 on Interstate-81 will shift to the opposite side of the lot as the Park and Ride enters its next phase of construction.
The number of parking spaces has been reduced by about 50 percent since April.
It will continue to be reduced throughout the duration of the project.
Drivers should plan for about 50 parking spaces being available at any given time during construction through the fall.
Portions of the lot that will be closed and marked by barricades and no parking signs.
Once the project is compete, the Park and Ride will be twice its original size and will provide 232 parking spaces instead of 112.
