SALEM, Va. – A popular breakfast spot in Salem is now closed.
According to a post on its Facebook page, The Brown Hen closed its doors Wednesday after the building the restaurant was housed in came under new ownership. The new owners are not interested in renewing the lease.

Although The Brown Hen had only been open on East Main Street since December, it had gained a loyal following among breakfast lovers. Pork belly sliders and biscuits and gravy were two of their main draws.
The husband and wife team say they were blindsided and plan to pick themselves back up again. They posted on Facebook that it is "not the end for us."
