ROANOKE, Va. – It's a busy store known to attract many die-hard shoppers for its low prices.
"I am at least at each Goodwill once a week," said Goodwill shopper Lauren Ricci.
In less than three days, the Goodwill store on Melrose Avenue in Roanoke will transform into the Simply Goodwill store.
"We are really excited to be introducing Roanoke Valley to the very first Simply Goodwill store,” said Kelly Sandridge, marketing director of Goodwill Industries of the Valleys.
Unlike the current Goodwill, which sells many new items, the Simply Goodwill store will have 100 percent donated merchandise.
Clothing for adults will start as low as $2.75, and children's clothing at only $1.
Since all items will be used, Simply Goodwill is expected to be like a Goodwill store from your childhood with a thrift-shop kind of feel.
"It's great to go back to that concept of a thrift store, but you never know if you're going to find like, that little treasure that you can hold on for a lifetime," Ricci said.
The Goodwill store will be closed on Sunday, as it makes its switch to the new store.
It reopens at 8 a.m. Monday.
