Man seriously hurt in Lynchburg shooting

LYNCHBURG, Va. – A man is recovering from several gunshot wounds after an early morning shooting in Lynchburg. 

A call for a possible car accident went out around 4:35 a.m. When officers responded to Rodes Street at Rivermont Ave., they discovered that a 34-year-old man had been shot several times.  

Emergency crews took the man to a hospital, where he is now in stable condition. A spokesman for the Lynchburg Police Department said earlier Thursday morning that his injuries were serious. 

No one has been arrested yet. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Lynchburg Police Department.
