Radford police make arrest after man beaten, robbed while responding to sex ad


RADFORD, Va. – Radford police say they have made an arrest after a man was beaten and robbed while responding to a social media advertisement that solicited sex. 

It happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Heather Glen Drive. 

Police say when the man, 42, arrived to meet the solicitor, he was beaten and then robbed of his wallet, ID, credit cards and $150 in cash. The solicitor did not use any weapons but the man has facial injuries that require medical treatment. 

Police arrested Lorenzo Lucas Clements, 33, of Shipman, Virginia. He is charged with robbery and is being held without bond at the New River Valley Regional Jail.
