Sam's Club, Fed-Ex team up to help Hurricane Harvey victims

Within first two hours, $700 worth of merchandise collected

ROANOKE, Va. – If you see a FedEx trailer parked outside Sam's Club in Roanoke, that's because Fed-Ex and Sam's Club are teaming up to help victims in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

Within the first two hours, they collected about $700 worth of merchandise.

That doesn't include the monetary donations.

They’re hoping to fill the entire trailer with donated items.

“We wanted to step it up and do something extra. We decided that we would try to fill up this trailer with donations from the members of the community,” Stacey Scott, marketing manager of Sam’s Club, said.

Sam's Club and Fed-Ex will be collecting donated items through Wednesday.
