Danville teen sentenced for January shooting

Marquan Conway, 18, to spend 10 years in prison

DANVILLE, Va. – A Danville teen will spend the next 10 years in prison for shooting a man earlier this year.

Marquan Conway, 18, was sentenced Friday morning.

Police say he shot a 47-year-old man from Florida in the 800 block of Washington Street.

Conway gave the victim some cocaine a few days before, but the victim never paid him, according to the Danville Commonwealth Attorney's Office.

Conway was convicted in July of malicious wounding, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm in public causing injury.
