CONCORD, Va. – Organizations across the Commonwealth are sending people to Florida ahead of the storm. Gleaning for the World representatives say they've already shipped 75,000 bottles of water, chainsaws and everything needed to begin cleanup efforts. The organization has 30 to 40 loads left to send to the Sunshine State.

“So to be able to take care of the people who can't leave, we've had to get water down there. We've opened up a warehouse in Atlanta, Georgia. We have several locations in Florida, who will be working. But the poor are the ones that always get caught and we want to make sure they're taken care of,” Ron Davidson, founder and president of Gleaning for the World, said.

Gleaning for the World is still sending help to Texas. So far they've sent 18 semitrailer loads to Houston and will send 20 more.
