Super Hornets to fly across Lane Stadium during national anthem
ROANOKE, Va. – The two U.S Navy F/A-18E Super Hornets that will fly over Lane Stadium at Virginia Tech Saturday are parked at the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport.
A group of Virginia Tech cadets got to see the aircraft and meet the pilots.
One of the pilots, a Virginia Tech graduate shared what it means to get to fly the twin-engine fighter jet across the stadium.
“It means the world to me. It is the first time I've been back to campus, and 11 years since I graduated from Virginia Tech. I always wanted to do it, and now I’ll get that chance," said Sean Reed, who will fly the aircraft.
The fighter jets will fly over the stadium during the national anthem.
