Central Virginia hold its first annual Fashion Week

Organizers say there will be fashion shows throughout the area

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Throughout the month of September, Fashion Week is celebrated across the country. And for the first time, Central Virginia is hosting its own. Organizers for Let’s Talk Fashion Virginia say throughout the week different boutiques, retailers, and fashion designers will display their products made locally and host various events. Central Virginia Fashion week kicks off in Alta Vista.

“We want to just bring that intrinsic city vibe to the area, while showcasing the participants in a unique way to the actual community, and letting them know that Central Virginia is a shopping destination. And that we have a lot of trendy, unique retail shops, boutique shops, and really extremely talented, upcoming, emerging fashion designers in the area,” Victoria Watts, executive director of Let's Talk Fashion Virginia, said.

Organizers say they will have fashion shows Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Doors open at 7 p.m. for all events. For more information on location and time, go to www.cvafashionweek.com.
