Radford Police: Man with knife breaks into apartment, hurts three


RADFORD, Va. – Radford police arrested a man accused of forcibly entering an apartment and assaulting three residents. 

Multiple people called 911 around 11:40 p.m. Thursday about a situation at an apartment in the 300 block of Tyler Ave. 

When officers arrived, they discovered that the apartment had been forcibly entered. Three residents had been physically assaulted and verbally threatened by a man with a knife. They have minor injuries but the man did not use the knife on them. 

Police arrested Quantay LaShawn Olds, 23, who lives in the same apartment complex. He is charged with breaking and entering with the intent to commit assault while armed with a deadly weapon, assault and battery, and destruction of property.

Olds is being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail without bond. 

Police also executed a search warrant at Olds' apartment, where evidence of the alleged crime was recovered.
