Roanoke police searching for wanted man after brief police chase

ROANOKE, Va. – Police are searching for two people after a brief car chase Friday night.

Roanoke police say an officer in an unmarked vehicle recognized a wanted suspect and tried to pull him over, but when that suspect refused to stop, the officer followed him.

During the pursuit, police say the officer got into an accident at the intersection of 11th Street and Moorman Avenue.

A block later, the suspect was also involved in a separate accident.

The suspect and a passenger got out of the car and ran away.

Police are still searching for the two.

No one was hurt, according to police.
