DANVILLE Va. – A large brush fire in Danville got out of hand in Danville Sunday morning.
The Danville Fire Department says the flames spread after a large brush pile fire that was left unattended.

Crews were not able to extinguish the fire because of the size and the remote location. The fire is contained and they are monitoring it to make sure it will not spread further.
Fire officials say people in Danville and Pittsylvania County will experience smoky conditions because of the fire.
