Roanoke man sentenced to three years in embezzlement case

Brian Wallace was found to have embezzled $416,109

ROANOKE, Va. – A judge sentenced a Roanoke man to three years in prison for embezzling over $400,000. 

The investigation began in February 2013. While employed at Chocklett Press, Brian Wallace, 43, was the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Information Technology. He left Chocklett Press in August 2015 to start a company named Office Management Services LLC, doing business as Work Boss. He then made numerous unauthorized wire transfers, which were deposited into accounts for Work Boss, from the Chocklett Press accounts.

The owners of Chocklett Press also discovered there were unauthorized online purchases made by using Chocklett Press company credit cards. 

In total, Wallace was found to have embezzled $416,109. 

On September 20, a judge sentenced Wallace on two counts of embezzlement to 20 years in prison with 17 years suspended. He was ordered to pay full restitution and will stay on probation for an indefinite period of time while restitution is paid.
