ROA Airport passenger traffic increases by nearly 3 percent in August

ROANOKE, Va. – Passenger traffic continues to grow at the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport.

In August, airport traffic increased by more than 3 percent compared to this month last year.

Airport administrators say strong community support, additional flights and increased capacity are some of the factors that contributed to the ongoing increase.

“We are pleased to see this positive trend continue through the summer of 2017,” said Timothy Bradshaw, executive director of the Roanoke Regional Airport Commission.

This year, nearly 500,000 passengers have flown in and out of the ROA Airport.
