Two wanted men arrested after 81-year-old robbed in Danville, police say

Robbery happened shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday, police say

DANVILLE, Va. – Danville police say that two wanted men they were searching for have been arrested.

Avis Gravett was arrested Thursday evening and Hazret Ford was arrested Friday morning.

Both are being held in the Danville City Jail under no bond. 


The Danville Police Department is searching for two wanted men, one of whom, it says, robbed an 81-year-old man.

Shortly after 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the 81-year-old man reported he was robbed at his business in the 2200 block of North Main Street.

He told police he was working alone inside when a man entered, assaulted him and took cash. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Af investigation, 34-year-old Avis Lamar Gravett was charged with robbery.

Police believe Gravett may be in the company of another wanted man, 39-year-old Hazret Abi Ibn Ford, who is wanted for probation violation.
