Franklin County deputies have charged a suspect after an incident that sent two people to the hospital.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday at the 1900 block of Bonbrook Mill Rd. in Wirtz.

When deputies arrived, they found a 20-year-old man, later identified as Moses W. Lewis, lying in the grass with a gunshot wound.

A female teenager there also appeared to have been assaulted, according to the sheriff's office.

They were both taken to the hospital. The teenager, who has not been named, has been released. Lewis remains in the hospital. It's not clear how badly he is hurt.

Investigation revealed that an altercation had taken place in the home. Further investigation indicated that two male teenagers had fled the scene before deputies arrived.

Deputies were able to locate one suspect Sunday evening. The suspect has been charged with malicious wounding and robbery, which are both felony charges.

The second suspect has not been located.

Due to the ages of the suspects, the sheriff's office has not released their names.
