Here's a look at some of the stories we'll be following today


TheBridge Christiansburg launches a Celebrate Recovery group today. The church started the group in response to the opioid epidemic. The meetings start in a big group with music and singing and leaders talking about the steps to recovery. The second part is a small group meeting where participants talk with others who are struggling with ways to apply what they learn.

Radford University President Brian Hemphill will deliver the State of the University address today. He will update the community on accomplishment over the past year and goals for the future. The address begins this morning at 11 at Bondurant Auditorium.

Goodwill in Christiansburg holds a hiring event today for its retail store. Positions include assistant store manager, retail team lead, sales associates and sales supervisor. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hampton Inn Christiansburg.

Earth Fare's job fair continues today. The organic and natural foods grocery store in Roanoke will hire 130 people for both full- and part-time positions in all departments. The job fair runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Virginia Western Community College. This is Earth Fare's first location in the Commonwealth. The store is scheduled to open on November 8th.

Blacksburg High School will recognize this year's class of inductees into its Hall of Fame tonight. Four former athletes will be honored. The inductees will be recognized at tonight's homecoming game.
