ELLISTON Va. – A 24-year-old man is dead and his girlfriend 21-year-old charged in his death, authorities said.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says it got a call around 2:30 a.m. Saturday that someone had been stabbed on Cattle Creek Path (Mountain Creek Mobile Home Community) in Elliston. When deputies arrived, they found 24-year-old Christian G. Colwell dead of what appeared to be a stabbing wound.

After a preliminary investigation, deputies arrested and charged Cowell's girlfriend, 21-year-old Taylor A. Stevers. She is charged with second-degree murder and is being held at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail without bail.
Deputies say it appears the stabbing was the result of a argument between the two.
The investigation is ongoing.
