Reward offered after cat found abandoned in a crate in Danville

Homeowner found cat Saturday afternoon

DANVILLE, Va. – The Danville Area Humane Society is asking for help figuring out who abandoned a cat in a pet carrier.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information.

According to Danville Area Humane Society Executive Director Paulette Dean, a homeowner on Westover Drive noticed the pet carrier in their driveway Saturday and called police.

Dean said the cat is in good health, but there's no indication as to where it came from.

"We are getting a lot of complaints about cats not being picked up in the county. So now, people are picking them up and bringing them to us or doing whatever they need to to get them out of a bad situation," Dean said.

If you have any information, contact the humane society at (434) 799-0843.
