ROANOKE, Va. – Dozens of women across the Roanoke Valley are building a home with Habitat for Humanity this week as part of the Fall Women Build Week.
More than 60 local women are volunteering their time this week to build a new home for a local family.
Monday, they focused on flooring, but they'll also build the walls and roof.
Volunteers said it's empowering to see women come together to help a deserving family.
"They can go home and do their own repairs which is a lot of fun or at least you feel you've accomplished something. It's a great accomplishment to know that you can do it yourself," Habitat Builder's Club Member Susan McFaden said.
They hope to have the home finished this Friday.
